Kristi Glasgall came from the Department of Defense, where she was responsible for ensuring the security of various DoD datacenters and critical military applications.

Two years ago, Kristi joined the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. As the Senior Threat & Risk Engineer, her role is comprised of running investigations, establishing the new TRS Privacy Advisory Council, coordinating the TRS Information Security Advisory Team, conducting risk assessments, creating security policies, procedures, presentations, etc. She is also the unofficial project manager for the team and still occasionally gets to break things.

She has bachelor’s degrees in both Cybersecurity and Cultural Anthropology. She acknowledges that this is a weird combination of degrees, but it works out for her. She holds CISSP, SSCP, and ITIL certifications.
