Lieutenant Colonel Winnek is the Deputy CIO-J6, Cyber Operations Chief of the Texas Military Department (TMD) and CIO/G6 of the 36th Infantry Division. He serves as Texas Military Department’s representative on the Texas Cybersecurity Council, State Information Security Advisory Committee, and the Texas Cyber Incident Response Working Group. He previously served on the staff of the Adjutant General of Texas as Director of Strategic Initiatives and in communications management positions on combat tours to Iraq in 2005 and Afghanistan in 2012. Winnek has a master’s degree in Information Technology Management and his military education includes the Joint Advanced Cyber Warfare Course, Army Cyber Operations Planners Course, Advanced Operations Course, and the Command and General Staff Officer’s Course.
