Jennie Kennedy is the inaugural Chief Privacy Officer of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, which serves as a resource, partner, and advocate for Texas higher education. An attorney and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US), Jennie established the agency’s privacy program to ensure the protection of data collected as a state educational authority, especially student data. Jennie has spent her career in and around state government, including serving as chief of staff and general counsel to a member of the Texas Legislature and as policy director for the University of North Texas System.
