Speaker Bio
Heidi Langdon is Director of Vendor Management for Shared Technology Services at the Texas Department of Information Resources, where she helps connect technology, strategy, and people, in order to solve real problems that impact the everyday lives of Texans.
With a career spanning application development, project management, and digital government, Heidi has developed a passion for the space where technology meets human behavior. She believes the best solutions don't start with what technology can do, they begin by understanding the problem that needs to be solved, what the users truly expect, and more importantly, what they don’t want: unnecessary clicks, multiple accounts, uncertainty on where to go or what will happen next.
That philosophy has helped shape her work with Texas.gov and Texas by Texas (TxT), Texas' digital assistant and "one front door" for government services. Heidi focuses on reducing friction, simplifying interactions, and creating digital experiences that feel intuitive rather than bureaucratic.
A longtime champion of practical innovation and continuous improvement, Heidi enjoys challenging assumptions, asking the questions users would ask, and finding ways to make complex technology feel refreshingly simple. Her favorite measure of success? When users are surprised that interacting with government was actually easy.
