Speaker Bio
Kellie Boone has spent the past 10 years with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and currently serves in IT Procurement, where she supports technology purchasing needs across the agency. Among many large technology procurements, she manages TPWD’s annual computer refresh, overseeing the procurement of 800–1,000 devices each year—an effort that represents roughly $1 million in technology purchases annually.

In her role, Kellie works closely with IT teams, field staff, and vendors to ensure that technology is delivered efficiently and meets the operational needs of employees across Texas. This year, she played a key role in supporting a successful pilot program that redesigned how computers are deployed statewide. The new process allows Dell to ship devices directly to remote locations rather than routing everything through headquarters. After initially having plenty of questions about whether this approach would work, Kellie is excited to share how the team refined the process, what they learned along the way, and how the pilot ultimately became a major success.

She looks forward to contributing insights at the DIR Conference and connecting with colleagues across the state who are navigating similar challenges in modernizing procurement and technology delivery.
