Case study on the Texas Workforce Commission documentation and process to increase the cybersecurity department staff. We all struggle with staying on top of all the tasks in cybersecurity with the staff in our teams. The traditional anecdotal evidence-based case for more staff is ineffective and simple size of agency to cybersecurity staff count comparisons do not provide the context around the complexities of regulatory compliance, number of systems supported, and alignment of organization mission to critical state priorities.
Session Objectives: Learn how to develop a workload process and template that aligns to the Organization mission & vision, how to assess "touch-hours" needed to maintain an effective program, and build a case for presenting the assumptions, assessment, and conclusions to executive staff, and making the additional staff request.
