Name
Social Engineering: Hybrid Attacks and Novel Techniques
Date & Time
Wednesday, March 29, 2023, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Description

Technology has become so sophisticated that traditional hackers have added social engineering to their skillset. Join us as we explore the great lengths hackers traverse to "Hack the Human". As the technical security posture of an organization increases, we deny traditional avenues of attack. We have forced attackers to turn their technical skills toward a largely unprotected attack surface - Our people. We are beginning to realize an uncomfortable truth: "No matter how secure the system, someone, somewhere, has the access we need - And they might give it to us". We all have vulnerabilities - Be that holding a door open for a contractor on site or believing that the voice you hear on the other end of a telephone is real. With the advent of machine learning models, attackers can superimpose a face onto anyone or train a system to reproduce a person's voice. Attackers are now using their technical sophistication to target people, and we need to be ready.

Session Objectives: Attendees will learn what Social Engineering and Hybrid Attacks are, the importance of Wi-Fi Security, Machine Learning 101 and its relation to Social Engineering, and how to protect themselves from attacks.
