Joe Poole is the Director of Cybersecurity Operations at the Texas Department of Information Resources. The Cybersecurity Operations team is responsible for protecting the State of Texas networks and shared infrastructure from cyber-attacks and to respond to cybersecurity incidents when they occur. Joe came to DIR from the Office of the Attorney General where he was a digital investigator for the Consumer Protection Division investigating internet fraud. Joe has been with DIR in cybersecurity operations for over 10 years. His expertise in cybersecurity investigation, defense, and response makes him uniquely qualified to proudly serve the citizens of Texas.
