Description

The future of education hinges on having a secure environment to teach in. Knowing how to address insider threats in K-12 schools is essential for security professionals in the education industry. Join us for this session in which we will cover the unique “insider threat” challenges that K-12 organizations face, including how to identify gaps in an organization's security posture, how defense in depth is critical in overcoming limitations, and how to identify when various tools are failing.

Session Objectives:

  • Understand how open "Airdrop" is a threat in K12. Learn how to track "anonymous" senders.
  • Hear how Fort Bend ISD uses various tools to detect and stop filter avoidance technology (and why it's so hard).

Consider how a determined adversary (such as a student) can become a free "Red Team" with adequate monitoring.
