Cybersecurity comes with many buzzwords, including those surrounding the idea of futureproofing. This presentation will demystify the buzzwords surrounding futureproofing the cyber workforce, discuss approaches to addressing the workforce issue, and provide an example roadmap for an organization to leverage. At the end of the presentation, attendees will have an actionable roadmap that will enable organizations to take a methodical, informed approach to ensure skilled employees who stay current with the changes in this dynamic field. However, futureproofing a workforce is not a silver bullet. We will examine multiple aspects of this issue, including organizational culture, policies, training goals, and educational avenues. We will present and expand on the NICE Framework and discuss skill sets outside of the NICE framework that could grow into a cyber-related position. Lastly, the Kudelski team will provide a high-level path forward for organizations that are committed to growing their cyber workforce.
