Bill Alderson
Description

The Internet Engineering Task Force’s (IETF) QUIC Protocol is already impacting all Operating Systems, web browsers and servers, including Google, YouTube, and Meta. Microsoft, Linux, and Apple are planning similar transitions to QUIC. Bill Alderson, also known as Packetman007, explains what the QUIC Protocol is and how it works with diagrams not found in IETF’s Request for Comments (RFCs) publications. Bill will share a side-by-side comparison of TCP versus QUIC benchmark results in addition to security cautions organizations should be aware of. Bill will explain why QUIC is needed, identify the speed improvements QUIC has over other protocols, provide monitoring suggestions, and show how QUIC can be enabled to harness 5G bandwidth and rapid mobile reconnects.
