Meghan E. Hollis-Peel, Ph.D., CDMP, is the Data Management Officer for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, leading the agency’s data governance program. Previously, she was the Data Officer at the Sunset Advisory Commission, where she provided expertise and analytics support for reviewing agencies' data use. She has also served at the Legislative Budget Board and Department of State Health Services. Dr. Hollis-Peel held academic roles at Texas State University, Tarleton State University, Michigan State University, and the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and has consulted for police agencies globally. Passionate about equipping government entities to be data-driven, she focuses on creating clean, usable data sources and providing analytics tools to drive policy change. As an AI evangelist, she has developed AI applications for government and works to reduce fear around tech adoption, helping advance public sector innovation into the 21st century.
