Dan Owen is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Texas State University, leading the Information Security Office in safeguarding institutional data, communications, and services. He oversees risk assessments, policy development, and cybersecurity initiatives to ensure data integrity and security.

In addition to his role at Texas State University, Owen also serves as the CISO for the Texas State University System and is a member of the Texas Department of Information Resources’ (DIR) Statewide Information Security Advisory Council (SISAC), where he collaborates on statewide cybersecurity strategies and best practices.
