ISF 2023 CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

MARCH 29-30, 2023 - IN PERSON

Texas Department of Information Resources, Office of the Chief Information Security Officer is pleased to announce the 24th annual Information Security Forum (ISF).  
 
This year's ISF will be held March 29-30, 2023 (Wednesday - Thursday) at the Palmer Events Center in Austin, Texas. A two-day event featuring multiple educational tracks and breakout sessions, the ISF is open to all levels of Texas government IT and security professionals and is a free event for attendees.

PRESENTATION PROPOSAL SUBMISSIONS

The theme of this year's forum is: Gaining The Edge

We are currently seeking to fill our break-out sessions with unique , practical, and educational content that focuses on real-life applications attendees can utilize in their organization.

Suggested topics include:

  • The Human Component
  • Threat Intelligence and Threat Sharing
  • Incident Response and Handling
  • Information Security Innovation
  • Privacy

EXTENDED DEADLINE: December 6, 2022

Each break-out session will be just under an hour in length. The audience will include security and IT employees of state agency, higher education, and local government employees.
 
Please include the following in your submission:
  • Topic Title (maximum of 20 words)
  • Session Abstract/Description (maximum of 200 words)
  • Three (3) session objectives (what will attendees learn?)
 
Presentation submissions are due by CLOSE OF BUSINESS December 6, 2022. Early submissions are appreciated!  The presentations selected for this year's ISF and the agenda will be finalized in early January. 
 
Upon acceptance approval of your proposal, slide presentations are requested by March 3, 2023.

GENERAL INFORMATION & FAQs

  • This Call for Presentations is for BREAKOUT sessions, offered on both Wednesday & Thursday, March 29-30, 2023 in the mornings and afternoons.
  • Breakout sessions will be just under an hour in length
  • All events will be held in person.
  • 1 Screen & LCD projector will be provided in each room and selected speakers are asked to provide their own laptop for projecting slide presentations through the projector.
  • Selected speakers are provided complimentary registration to include continental breakfast and lunch on both days. 
  • All events will be held at the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs, Rd, Austin, TX 78704.
  • Travel expenses are not provided for speakers.
