Petr constantly pushes himself to learn new things and works hard to implement new ideas at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. He also provides guidance and influence within the cybersecurity field at large and is considered a thought leader by his peers. In July 2022, Petr became one of the elite three hundred cybersecurity professionals in the world who achieved the coveted SANS/GIAC Security Expert (GSE) certification. Along the road to achieving the GSE, Petr obtained 18 other SANS/GIAC certifications, the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) and other industry certifications. Petr is also involved in the community and acts as a professional mentor to folks entering the cybersecurity field, is a teacher assistant for several SANS classes, and writes quiz questions for SANS online courses. He has been a state employee for 18 years.
