Sophia Shelton is the Cybersecurity GRC Manager at the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Prior to her state service, Sophia worked in the cybersecurity space for one of Hawaii's top Credit Unions. Now working in state government, Sophia has a combined 11 years of cybersecurity experience. In her current role, she is responsible for guiding staff to adhere to state and federal cybersecurity compliance requirements, improving and automating complex processes for a better and more consistent adoption, and working with stakeholders to ensure safeguards are in place. Her goal is to enable staff to operate securely. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband, four-legged family members, and friends.
